Eric Teal joins Charlotte’s Queens Oak Advisors as managing partner
Queens Oak Advisors, a boutique wealth management firm in Charlotte, said this week that Eric Teal has joined the firm as its new managing partner and chief investment officer.
Teal, a Charlotte native, will oversee the firm’s investment strategy, which includes asset allocation and directing portfolio management, research, trading, planning and risk management functions, according to Queens Oak.
Teal has more than two decades of experience managing collective trust funds, mutual funds, university endowments, and state and local public pension plans, Queens Oak said this week. He most recently was chief investment officer at First Citizens Bank in Raleigh, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“Eric’s track record in investment management and value investing will allow Queens Oak to grow in new markets throughout the Southeast and beyond while making good on our commitment to deliver investment performance and outstanding service to clients,” former Wal-Mart CEO and Queens Oak Advisors investor Lee Scott said in a statement.
Teal is a graduate of Rhodes College and has an MBA from the University of Memphis. He has also studied at the London School of Economics.
