Charlotte-based Goodmortgage.com said Monday it has been acquired by Virginia’s First Guaranty Mortgage Corp.

In a statement, Goodmortgage founder Keith Luedeman said all of his company’s Charlotte-based staff members are being retained in the sale, through which Goodmortgage will keep its name as it operates as a separate division of First Guaranty.

Luedeman said the purchase will allow Goodmortgage to expand from its current 18 states and the District of Columbia to as many as 40 states over the next 12-plus months. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Goodmortgage was founded in 1999. The Internet-based direct lender provides residential mortgages for home purchases and refinancing.
