Several Tuesday Morning stores are closing in the Charlotte area. Here’s where
Several Tuesday Morning stores will be closing in the Charlotte region as the Texas chain grapples with bankruptcy.
Five Charlotte-area stores are among a list of 263 stores nationwide that are set to close, according to discount home goods retailer Tuesday Morning. In all, there are 17 stores closing in North Carolina.
On Tuesday, the Dallas-based company founded in 1974 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the second time in three years. Tuesday Morning said in January 2021 it had emerged from bankruptcy after reorganization and closing nearly 200 stores.
During the restructuring process, Tuesday Morning is closing underperforming stores to allocate resources to high-traffic stores and make cost-effective changes to distribution and inventory, the company said Friday in a statement to The Charlotte Observer.
Tuesday Morning had 490 stores across the country as of June 30, 2021, according to the latest company annual report online.
