The top 2: Cast your vote to decide the best tattoo shop in the Charlotte area

There are dozens of options for choosing where to get a tattoo in the Charlotte area. But after weeks of voting, we’ve got the top two popular shops: Tattoo Bill’s in Charlotte and From The Ashes Tattoo Studio in Gastonia.

Charlotte has over 78 tattoo parlors, according to industry publication Tattoo 101.

“In the past few years as tattooing has grown in popularity, it has become harder and harder to find studios in North Carolina and much of the South willing to take on apprentices,” according to Tattoo 101, which touts itself as “the world’s largest online tattoo education platform.”

It’s clear the Charlotte region has a lot of love for their tattoo parlors.

We started with 61 shops nominated by you to decide the best tattoo studio in the Charlotte region.

The field was then cut to 32 favorites, then 16, 8 and 4. The last round of voting had the most votes cast yet at nearly 30,000, more than double the field of 32.

Now it’s time to vote in the final round 6 of the 2023 Readers’ Choice best tattoo shop contest to declare a winner.

This is not a scientific poll and is meant to be fun. People can vote as many times as they like.

Voting runs through noon Thursday, Aug. 3.
