Four more COVID-19 related deaths confirmed in Durham County on Sunday

The Durham COVID-19 death toll increased by four on Sunday, as the county confirmed that a total of 15 county residents have died from the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The Durham County Public Health website reported 555 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with nine new cases confirmed on Sunday.

Durham County has the third highest number of confirmed cases in the state, behind Mecklenburg (1,482) and Wake (663).

The state DHHS lists 8,830 cases, 451 current hospitalizations with 78% of the hospitals reporting, and 107,894 tests completed on its website as of April 26, but the site is typically only updated once per day.

Some additional cases reported by county health departments are not immediately included in the number reported by the state. The News & Observer is keeping a real-time count of additional cases announced by counties updated throughout the day.

Wake

Wake County has reported 663 confirmed cases, up 12 cases from Saturday. A total of 13 deaths have been reported, according to the NCDHHS dashboard. There were no deaths reported on Sunday.

Orange

Orange County had 208 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13 deaths, according to the Orange County Health Department. That number is down one from Saturday and changed because the county of residence was verified on one of the cases.

Johnston

Johnston County reported five additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total to 135. There have been 11 deaths in the county.
