CMS will vote on its reopening schools plan today. Here’s how to watch.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg school board will hold an emergency meeting Wednesday to vote on how to reopen schools this fall.
Guidelines issued by North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper Tuesday allow CMS and other public schools to choose either a fully-remote learning option or a hybrid of virtual and in-person classrooms at reduced capacity for the 2020-21 school year, the Observer reported Tuesday.
The CMS board will meet at 4:30 p.m. and the public can watch the meeting via a stream on the CMS Facebook page. The board plans to meet in-person but with limited space and restrictions based on social distancing.
According to CMS board chair Elyse Dashew, there will be a fully remote option for K-12 families, regardless of which plan the board approves.
