Are you concerned about the new COVID variant spreading in Charlotte? Let us know

As the latest, most infectious COVID variant spreads in the Charlotte region, do you plan to take extra precautions like getting vaccinated and wearing masks again?

The Omicron sub-variant BA.5 appears to be “the most highly transmissible of the COVID subvariants,” Dr. David Priest, infectious disease specialist at Novant Health, told The Charlotte Observer.

The latest COVID variant affects the nasal passages more than the lungs. The new infection appears as cold and flu-like symptoms with a fever and coughing. The best way to prevent the spread of COVID, health officials say is to continue to wear masks, wash hands, get vaccinated and social distance.

Do you plan to get vaccinated, or get boosted, as health experts recommend? Will you start wearing a mask in public again? Take our short survey and feel free to share it with others. This is not a scientific poll.
