A story on page 18A Saturday said incorrectly that a 2010 report from scientists warning of a 39-inch rise in sea level by the end of the century was rejected by the N.C. Coastal Resources Commission. After initially incorporating the forecast into a draft policy on sea-level rise, the commission later stripped out the science panel’s projections before approving a policy, in 2012, that was never implemented by the state. The commission never voted formally on the science panel’s report.
