Teenager drowns in Badin Lake

A 14-year-old is dead after drowning in Badin Lake, according to NC Resource Commission.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating the incident, but could not confirm further details at this time.

The NC Resource Commission said the teen went under the water around noon Monday. We’re told the 14-year-old’s family was at the lake.

Badin Lake boarders North Carolina’s Uwharrie National Forest, which is about 56 miles northeast of Charlotte.
