A water main break could cause problems for drivers on Wendover Road in south Charlotte Thursday morning.

The break in an 8-inch water main is in the 1500 block of Wendover at Vernon Drive. That is between Providence and Randolph roads. A photo shared by Charlotte Water on Twitter showed water spilled across the road.

A second break also was reported in the 700 block of East Fourth Street.

Elsewhere, drivers north of uptown can expect delays this morning because of Vice President Joe Biden’s visit. Biden, along with Transportation Secretary (and former Charlotte Mayor) Anthony Foxx, will appear at the Extravaganza Depot at 10 a.m.

Also, patches of black ice remain a concern for Charlotte-area drivers Thursday morning amid near-record low temperatures. April Bethea contributed.
