Three injured in Lenoir school bus accident

Three people were taken to the hospital after a car ran a red light and struck a school bus in Lenoir, police said.

The accident happened just after 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Fairview Drive and Morganton Boulevard. A silver passenger vehicle ran the light and struck a Caldwell County Schools bus in the left rear area, the Lenoir Police Department said.

Six students were on board at the time, and two were taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.

The car’s driver was also taken to the hospital. Police are determining whether charges are warranted, Lenoir police said.
