Fires damaged two homes in the Charlotte region Sunday, but no one was injured.

Charlotte firefighters responded to a structure fire about 10:51 a.m. Sunday in northwest Charlotte, said Fire Department Capt. Jackie Gilmore.

Heavy fire and smoke were showing at a home in the 200 block of Harrison Street, Gilmore said. No injuries were reported.

Also on Sunday, a fire in Huntersville left two people without a home.

The Huntersville Fire Department said the fire that started about 1:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Hambright Road was controlled in 10 minutes, but that was enough time for the fire to result in a total loss of the home.

No injuries were reported from the scene, and the American Red Cross was there to help the displaced residents. Fire crews have not said how the fire started.
