More than a dozen people gathered at Marshall Park on Sunday evening for the Community Unity Prayer Vigil to pray for peace and unity. The vigil, which was intended to bring the community together, was sparked by several homicides in and around Charlotte during the past week. The event was sponsored by Million Youth March of Charlotte, Mothers of Murdered Offspring, Swerve Kings and Queens of Charlotte Car Club, Queen City Sistas With Attitude, and also the Put Down The Guns Young People Organization of Greenville, S.C.
