Charlotte under dense fog advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for the Charlotte area until 10 a.m. this morning.

The advisory was issued for the entire Interstate 77 corridor, the North Carolina foothills and part of the South Carolina Piedmont, said meteorologist John Tomko.

“That just means that visibilities are low enough to impede safe travel on highways,” he said.
