Police investigating homicide in east Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Sunday night in east Charlotte, police said.

Police said they received an assault with a deadly weapon call for service at 8:01 p.m. for the 3000 block of Timber Hollow Drive.

Officers found Justin Reid, 27, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medic took him to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Detectives are canvassing the apartment complex to determine whether there are any witnesses to the shooting, police said. Elisabeth Arriero
