Beginning Thursday, crews building a bridge will close lanes on Interstate 85 northbound and southbound between the W.T. Harris Boulevard and University City Boulevard exits.
Lane closures through Dec. 21 will allow city crews to continue building the bridge over the interstate.
Crews will close three southbound lanes from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, and from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.
Depending on progress, southbound lane closures could occur at 10 p.m. Saturday or be moved to the same area on I-85 northbound until 8 a.m. Sunday.
Crews will close three lanes on I-85 northbound from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday and Monday. Closures next Tuesday and Wednesday will be limited to the left lanes on I-85 northbound and southbound from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights.
The University Pointe Boulevard project will build the bridge over I-85 from Ikea Boulevard to IBM Drive, providing an alternative to heavily traveled W.T. Harris Boulevard and University City Boulevard.
