Charlotte police investigate local woman’s disappearance

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s missing persons unit is investigating the disappearance of a Charlotte woman last seen on Thursday.

The husband of Nia Hantzopoulos reported that she was last seen leaving 7425 Quail Ridge Dr. at 2 p.m. Thursday. She was driving a silver 2005 Toyota Avalon with the North Carolina license plate number ZVD-3868.

Police were contacted early Saturday morning.

Hantzopoulos was traveling to Pineville or to the Fort Mill, S.C., area. She has not contacted family members and “there is some concern about her safety,” police said.

The woman is 5 feet 1 inch tall and has blond hair and green eyes.

Anyone who sees or has information about Hantzopoulos is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Refer to CMPD report number 20161217-0745-01.
