Dense fog advisory in effect for Charlotte area

A dense fog advisory remains in effect for the Charlotte region through 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The widespread fog will give way to cloudy then eventually sunny skies, with a springlike high near 73 by afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds, meanwhile, could gust as high as 30 mph during the day.

A 40 percent chance of rain is called for Wednesday night, with showers likely during the day on Thursday. Thursday’s high is forecast to be 60 degrees.

Friday will be much colder, with an expected high of only 41 degrees, but it should be sunny.

Mostly sunny skies are also expected Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, with respective highs of 54, 57, 60 and 58.
