Attorney General Roy Cooper spent Tuesday afternoon at Northeast Middle School in Charlotte to mark the official launch of a video contest aiming to combat prescription drug abuse.

This is the fourth year in a row the Attorney General’s Office has sponsored the contest. This year, middle school students as well as high school students will be able to submit short videos that would encourage their peers to avoid abusing prescription drugs.

In 2013, a student from Hough High in Cornelius took first place.
