Body of Stanly teen recovered from lake
The body of a Stanly County teenager missing since January was recovered from Lake Tillery on Tuesday, and authorities said they suspect no foul play.
Jaquarious Quamonte Kendall’s family reported him missing Jan. 25, after his car was found near the James B. Garrison Bridge. The 17-year-old was a senior at Albemarle High School.
Authorities said his body was found 300 to 400 yards south of the bridge on Tuesday. A resident near Swift Island Road called 911 about 8:30 a.m. to report seeing a body floating near a boat dock on the Stanly County side of Lake Tillery, The Stanly News & Press reported.
Stanly County sheriff’s investigators told the newspaper that an autopsy will determine the cause of death but that no foul play is suspected.
