Charlotte traffic: 2 students injured in Gaston County school bus wreck
Two students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries from a wreck involving a Gaston County school bus and a car near Stanley Thursday morning.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck, which happened in the 700 block of Mauney Road.
Heavy congestion, meanwhile, remained throughout the early morning commute on Interstate 77 southbound after two early morning wrecks, state highway officials said.
The first wreck, at 5:40 a.m. near Tyvola Road, Exit 5, has been cleared. That wreck initially blocked two of the three lanes.
The second wreck, near Woodlawn Road, Exit 6, had the left lane blocked, but it was cleared about 7 a.m..
At 7:45 a.m., a wreck was backing up traffic on I-85 northbound at Lowell Exit 23 in Gaston County.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police investigated wrecks with injuries at 6 a.m. at Rea Road and Candlewyck Lane; at 7 a.m. in the 1000 block of Beatties Ford Road; at 7:37 a.m. at I-85 northbound and Billy Graham Parkway; and 7:50 a.m. in the 8700 block of Research Drive in University City.
