Part of Old Concord Road closing until Dec.
Part of Old Concord Road will be closed starting Sunday to allow state roads crews to work on a grade separation and highway improvement project.
The road will be closed between Branch Hill Circle and Farmfield Lane, the N.C. Department of Transportation said. The road is expected to be reopened in December.
The closure will allow workers to raise the grade of Old Concord Road to meet the height of the future Grier Road bridge, which will carry Grier Road over N.C. Railroad tracks.
