Statesville man faces sex offense, kidnapping charges

A Statesville man was arrested Thursday on sex offense and kidnapping-related charges, police said Friday.

The victim in the case is younger than 13, police said, and is the daughter of the suspect’s ex-girlfriend. Statesville police said the alleged incident happened on Sunday.

Antonio Torres Ibarra, 40, was charged with first-degree sexual offense with a child younger than 13, first-degree kidnapping, indecent liberties with a child and delivering a controlled substance to a minor younger than 13.
