Juvenile charged in sharing of nude CMS student photos

A juvenile has been charged in connection with distributing nude photos of middle and high school students in northern Mecklenburg County, a spokeswoman with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said Monday.

In February, police said they had identified a male student who created and shared a file with the Web service Dropbox containing photos of about 75 students at Hough High and other area schools. The youngest girl photographed is 14. The photos were all self-shot but not meant to be widely distributed, police said.

CMS declined to say Monday whether the person who was charged was a student in the district.

The case has been referred to the district attorney’s office, the school system said. Andrew Dunn
