Man shoots leg while playing with gun at Rock Hill motel

A South Carolina man staying at a Rock Hill motel Sunday morning shot himself in the calf while “playing” with his handgun, according to a police report.

The man told police he was at the Motel 6 on Riverview Road around 1 a.m. Sunday with three other people when he was “playing with his Ivy Johnson. .32 caliber gun.” The gun fell to the ground and discharged, shooting the man through the calf, the report states.

No charges were filed.
