School bus, van collide on South Mint Street, sending two to hospital

Two people were injured in a crash involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools bus and a van south of uptown Charlotte Friday morning, reports the Observer’s news partner WBTV.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded around 7:40 a.m. at the corner of South Mint Street and West Bland Street. Witnesses said it appeared some students were on the school bus at the time of the crash, but it was unclear if any were hurt.

Medic told WBTV it took two people to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries.

One lane of Mint Street had reopened shortly after 8 a.m.
