He is the city’s 31st homicide of the year.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police detectives say it happened about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of Botany Street, north of uptown in the Washington Heights area off Brookshire Freeway.

On arrival, officers found Ross inside a residence with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.

“He suffered from at least one gunshot wound, and indications are that he was shot outside the residence. We do not have any suspects in custody at this point,” Major Anthony Kornberg told the Observer’s news partner, WBTV.
