‘Facebook drama’ leads to assault at Rock Hill apartment, woman tells police

A woman told police she was assaulted in her Rock Hill apartment Thursday after “Facebook drama” escalated into violence.

The victim reported that two people knocked on the door of her Eden Terrace apartment, and began to swing at her as soon as she opened the door, according to a Rock Hill Police Department report.

Police responded to the apartment around 8:50 p.m. Thursday after a report of disorderly conduct.

The woman told officers that one of the suspects jumped in the apartment and held her down so the other could continue to hit her, the report says.

The victim also told Rock Hill police that one of the assailants “punched her in the face, pulled her hair and dragged her in her own apartment,” and the other “just helped pinned her down,” the report says.

She said both suspects ran away as soon as she was able to grab her pepper spray, the report said.

The victim told officers the incident was “basically Facebook drama,” and that she and one of the suspects had “exchange words back and forth on Facebook,” the report says.

Officers reported the victim had minor lacerations to her right knee, right elbow and lip. The victim also believed her shoulder might be dislocated, the report says.

Rock Hill officers are seeking warrants to charge both suspects with assault and battery by mob, the report says.
