Man’s body found near I-40 exit ramp in the Hickory area, officials say

A man’s body has been found off one of the Interstate 40 ramps near Hickory, reports the Hickory Record.

It was found in a section of woods near the exit 125 ramp Tuesday morning, leading the Hickory Police Department to close off that area for an investigation, it was reported.

The body, said to be a white male, was about 100 yards deep in the forested area, police told the Record. A backpack was found at the crime scene, it was reported.
