A 56-year-old N.C. woman faces drug and liquor charges after authorities said she had several gallons of illegal moonshine and drugs in her home.
Shelby Berrier, of High Point, was arrested at her home Tuesday night and detectives recovered seven gallons of moonshine along with 6.5 pounds of marijuana and 20 guns, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. Reports said Barrier also had $3,565 in cash.
She had apparently been the subject of an ongoing investigation, and other people may also be charged, the Lexington Dispatch reported.
Berrier faces charges of trafficking marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling for drug use and possession of non-taxed paid liquor, the sheriff’s office said.
Despite her charges, Berrier appears to be relaxed in her mugshot and even seems to smile.
“She’s just real laid back, I don’t know why,” Sheriff David Grice told the Lexington Dispatch. “With seven pounds of weed and seven gallons of moonshine, she was probably pretty laid back.”
The sheriff’s office said Berrier is being held at the on $30,000 bond, and has an appearance in court on July 20.
