Charlotte Mayor Dan Clodfelter will join representatives from international company Blue Sphere Corp. during a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for a new waste-to-energy plant.
Blue Sphere Corp. develops and manages waste-to-energy projects. The new plant will produce clean energy by eliminating organic waste and converting it to electricity, organizers said.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be 11 a.m. at 600 Johnson Road, just off North Graham Street. Clodfelter is expected to speak during the ceremony.
