Charlotte weather: Moderate temps, but clouds moving in

Charlotte can expect moderate temperatures on Wednesday as clouds begin moving into the area.

Wednesday’s high is forecast to reach 62 degrees, up from 55 degrees at 5 a.m.

The chance of rain is slight across the region Wednesday, although the chance of showers rises Thursday and Friday.

A high pressure system, meanwhile, will move off the East Coast on Wednesday, allowing a warm front to lift north across the region Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service. Thursday’s high could hit 76 degrees.

By the weekend, however, a cold high pressure system will settle into the area. While Friday’s high is forecast to be 62, a low of 36 is expected Friday night and a low of 30 Saturday night.

Saturday’s high is forecast to reach only 51, although it will be sunny.

Sunday’s high will climb a bit to 56, also under sunny skies, according to the latest NWS forecast.

Temperatures are expected to reach 69 Monday and 68 Tuesday under sunny skies.
