Charlotte traffic: Congestion building during Friday commute
Congestion is continuing to build on major interstates during Friday’s commute.
And the commute has gotten messy as rain moves through the Charlotte area.
As of 9:15 a.m., here were the problem spots:
▪ Accident on Sunset Road at I-77 N.
▪ Accident on W. Tyvola Road at Free Throw Lane.
▪ Traffic light malfunction at Commonwealth Avenue and Briar Creek Road.
▪ Disabled vehicle on Old Statesville Road and W. W.T. Harris Boulevard.
▪ Disabled vehicle on Tyvola Road at South Boulevard.
▪ Accident on S. Tryon St. at Township Road.
▪ Disabled vehicle in the 600 block of East Boulevard.
▪ Accident in the 3300 block of E. W.T. Harris Boulevard.
▪ Accident on Park Road at Fairview Road.
▪ Accident in the 6900 block of Independence Boulevard.
▪ Accident on Mount Holly-Huntersville Road at Holly Ridge Boulevard in Huntersville.
▪ Accident on E. W.T. Harris Boulevard at Grier Road.
▪ Road blockage on Providence Road at Sardis Road.
▪ Accident in the 1900 block of Trinity Church Road in Kannapolis.
