A driver who wrecked his car in Union County south of Marshville Friday morning is being air-lifted to Carolinas Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
The accident happened mid-morning on Landsford Road near Camden Road, N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper John Burgin said. The vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Blazer, ran off the road and hit a tree, he said.

The victim is a man in his early 20s. He was taken to CMC-Union in Monroe and then was going to be taken to CMC in Charlotte for treatment of his injuries, Burgin said.
“It doesn’t look good,” he added.
