Man shot in east Charlotte robbery, 2 in custody

A man was shot during a robbery in east Charlotte late Wednesday night.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they were called to an armed robbery around 11:19 p.m. in the 3400 block of Teal Point Drive. Officials arrived and found a man with a gunshot wound. Medic took him to Carolinas Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

Police attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle a short time later but said the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a chase. The three suspects then jumped out and ran. Two of the suspects were caught and sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
