A man from Vietnam fell to his death while trying to walk across the top of a North Carolina waterfall on Wednesday.
Kim Quang Le, 24, appeared to have fallen 50 to 75 feet at Moore Cove Falls in Pisgah National Forest, the Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. He was found dead at the base of the falls and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Le was living in Virginia on a student/employee authorization card, according to the sheriff’s office. He and four friends were on a camping trip Wednesday at the falls in Brevard.
Authorities cautioned the public not to climb or walk across the top of waterfalls because of the danger they pose.
