NRC to hold public meeting on Catawba nuclear plant

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a public meeting April 8 about its assessment of the Catawba nuclear plant near York, S.C.

The NRC’s inspections in 2014 found issues of very low safety significance and that the plant’s units one and two performed as expected. Only routine inspections will be required this year.

NRC staff will be available to answer questions about the plant at the meeting. It will start at 6 p.m. in the Rock Hill City Hall rotunda, 155 Johnson St.
