A cut in a fiber optic cable shut down Internet service at DMV offices across North Carolina, state transportation officials said Wednesday. The DOT announced that services were restored around 5 p.m.
The cable cut affected service between Charlotte and Raleigh, according to a news release from the N.C. Department of Transportation.
It was not immediately clear what caused the cable cut.
