The city of Monroe is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who broke into a sub-station on Dale Street Wednesday around 6 p.m.

The man stole some wire and metal, and caused several thousand dollars’ worth of damage at the site, city spokesman Pete Hovanec said Friday.

The city released several photos of the suspect, who apparently was not concerned about hiding his appearance.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Monroe police at 704-282-4700 or Union County Crime Stoppers at 704-283-5600.
