An anti-communist rally in Charlotte? Social media yawns and giggles
News this weekend that an anti-communist group plans a Dec. 28 march in Charlotte to defend against “leftist terrorists and rioters” is drawing yawns, insults and sarcasm on social media.
The group Anticom says the event will be held at Marhsall Park and will include music, food and speakers like Richard Spencer, co-editor of AltRight.com.
Here’s how people responded on social media:
He won't show, but I'd love to see @RichardBSpencer show up at Marshall Park in Charlotte, NC. He'd think Charottesville was paradise.

@NC_Governor @CityofCharlotte all for free speech but do we in @northcarolina really want this happening in our state?

How are you going to ensure attendees are properly vetted? Whatever you do, don't let this become another Charlottesville.

What! Do think that you get a do-over? That you get to collect everyone's flags & weapons before hand? Try harder to not kill anyone?

Will there be free food?

This march would be more effective in a communist country like North Korea. Try doing one there!
