Charlotte traffic: Search on for driver in Charlotte wreck
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were searching for the driver of a silver Toyota Camry who ran from a two-car wreck on South Boulevard at Sharon Lakes Road Tuesday morning.
The wreck happened about 6:30 a.m. and involved injuries, police said.
The wreck continued to back up traffic nearly an hour later.
Heading into the 8 a.m. hour, wrecks were also snarling traffic on Independence Boulevard and Interstate 77 northbound in Charlotte.
A wreck had closed one lane of I-77 N. near I-277, while another one backed up inbound Independence at Briar Creek Road.
Traffic signals, meanwhile, are back on at South Kings Drive and East Morehead Street, after downed tree limbs knocked out power to about 500 Duke Energy customers early Tuesday.
