Police said John Zedrick Jennings went missing in north Charlotte Sunday afternoon and there was concern he might be lost. A missing persons alert was sent to the media.
Jennings was hit by a vehicle while walking on Interstate 85 near the Brookshire Freeway, police said.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated the collision, and Medic transported Jennings to Carolinas Medical Center-Main, where he was being treated for minor injuries Monday.
At the time of the accident, police said, Jennings was not carrying identification and his identity was unknown, which is why no one was notified that he had been injured on the interstate.
