Wreck snarls traffic on I-77

A wreck has snarled traffic on I-77 N. at Westinghouse Boulevard.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, the N.C. Highway Patrol reported that three of the interstate’s four lanes were blocked.

The Charlotte Fire Department said that the wreck injured motorists, including one who was temporarily trapped in an overturned car. The patients have been sent to an area trauma center.

Firefighters were able to rescue the trapped motorist within 10 minutes.
