Habitat ReStore opens Tuesday in Denver, N.C.

Habitat for Humanity opened its 12th Metrolina Habitat ReStore Tuesday morning at 2128 N.C. 16 in Denver, N.C.

The store is in the Westport Market retail center, just across the Mecklenburg County line in eastern Lincoln County.

The store is accepting donations of new and gently used items from individuals and businesses to sell to the public at 50 to 70 percent off the original retail value.

Items acceptable for donation include furniture, appliances, building materials, home accessories, antiques and books.

A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, and will include an appearance by former NASCAR driver Harry Gant from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Every item donated to and sold by a ReStore helps support the mission of Habitat for Humanity in that community.

Through the selling of donated construction and home-related items, the Lincoln County ReStore will increase the number of homes built with low-income families through Habitat for Humanity, Habitat officials said.

To donate items or to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, call 704-966-4300 or visit habitatlcnc.org or www.facebook.com/LincolnCountyReStore.
