A four-vehicle wreck has blocked three lanes of Interstate 77 southbound at LaSalle Street Exit 12 in Charlotte Wednesday morning.
The wreck happened about 7:20 a.m. and has backed up traffic.
A wreck shortly before 8 a.m. blocked the right lane of I-77 northbound near John Belk Freeway Exit 9B, but the lane quickly was reopened, state highway officials said.
Earlier Wednesday, emergency crews responded to a wreck with two reported pin-ins in the 5000 block of Lakeview Road, off Reames Road in north Charlotte.

The wreck happened about 6:40 a.m. when a Toyota Corolla crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Highlander SUV head on, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Two occupants of the vehicles were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
“The air bags and safety features did their job,” an officer at the scene said.
Obama is scheduled to arrive in Charlotte at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday and leave after 4 p.m.
As with previous visits by the president, Obama’s exact route to and from the airport won’t be announced, for security reasons.
