Tree falls on house in south Charlotte

A south Charlotte family is getting assistance from the Red Cross this morning after a tree fell on their home around 3:30 a.m.

The home, at 313 Gene Avenue, was damaged, and three adults and two children were affected after the tree fell, the Charlotte chapter of the American Red Cross said.

Volunteers were on scene to assess the effects of the damage and also provide as needed lodging, groceries and clothing.
