Charlotte traffic: Wrecks backing up traffic on I-77, I-85

A wreck near Morehead Street Exit 10 is backing up traffic on Interstate 77 southbound Thursday morning.

The wreck happened shortly before 7 a.m. and has blocked the left lane.

At 7:10 a.m., a wreck with injuries was reported on southbound I-85 at Exit 39, Statesville Avenue, in Charlotte. The right lane is blocked, and traffic is backed up there, too.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police also responded to a wreck with injuries on northbound I-85 Service Road at North Tryon Street.

The wreck happened about 6:10 a.m., and police were still at the scene heading into the 7 a.m. hour.

Police also were at a hit-and-run wreck on Brookshire Boulevard at the I-485 ramp. No injuries were reported.

Another wreck happened in the 6400 block of Orr Road, off North Tryon Street. That wreck happened shortly after 6 a.m., and no injuries have been reported.
