Motorcyclist dies in 3-vehicle Concord wreck

A Charlotte motorcyclist died in a three-vehicle crash on Bruton Smith Boulevard near the Interstate 85 exit in Concord late Wednesday, police said.

Brian Morris Greene, 40, died when his 2005 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle struck a Toyota Prius about 10:45 p.m., police said. Greene was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Greene was traveling southeast on Bruton Smith Boulevard while the Prius, operated by Chia Li Chien, 47, of Charlotte, was headed northeast on the I-85 exit ramp to Bruton Smith Boulevard, police said.

A 2007 Toyota Corolla operated by Joshua Scott Linnett, 37, of Charlotte, also was traveling northeast on the I-85 exit ramp. The Toyotas were side by side in separate turn lanes making their turns onto Bruton Smith Boulevard when the motorcycle entered the intersection and struck the Prius in the driver’s side, pushing the car into the side of the Corolla, police said.

Police reported no other injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone with any information about the wreck is asked to call police Sgt. Tim Hartsell at 704-920-5027.
