Charlotte traffic: Numerous problems during the Friday commute
There were numerous accidents in the Charlotte area Friday morning.
At about 8:15 a.m., Charlotte Water said major sewer repairs will leave the 2800 block of Manor Road closed for about four to six hours. At 8:50 a.m., here were the problem spots:
▪ Accident on Sunset Road at Reames Road.
▪ Accident on W. Third Street at S. Graham Street.
▪ Accident in the 6700 block of Brookshire Boulevard near Bellhaven Boulevard.
▪ Accident on Ballantyne Commons Parkway at Rea Road.
▪ Disabled vehicle on I-77 N. at mile marker 10 near Morehead Street, one lane closed.
▪ Congestion on Jetton Road in Cornelius following a now-fixed gas leak in the area
▪ Accident on N. Statesville Road at Gilead Road.
▪ Accident on Sharon Road West at Sharonbrook Drive.
▪ Congestion following an accident on I-85 N. at Billy Graham Parkway.
▪ Accident on I-485 at Exit 41, N.C. 27.
▪ Accident on I-85 N. at 23, McAdenville Road.
▪ Accident on E. Sixth Street at N. Myers Street.
▪ Road blockage in the 8300 block of Statesville Road. The problem here reportedly is a water main break at Saint Francis Drive near Lakeview Road.
▪ Accident on Gibbon Road at Old Statesville Road.
