A man is accused of attacking multiple elderly couples last week in different North Carolina counties.
Officials in Randolph County allege 28-year-old Jeremy Lamar Hayes went to a couple’s home in Asheboro on Jan. 24 posing as an employee for the town’s water department. Once inside their home, he assaulted the couple, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
The victims, who are both in their 80s, were treated for serious injuries. They were in stable condition a few days later, officials said.

A separate incident happened a few days later in Guilford County. Hayes allegedly approached a couple’s home saying he ran out of gas, according to Fox 8. He assaulted and robbed the couple, the station reported.
Randolph County officials have announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Hayes. He is expected to be charged with second-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, among other charges.
Hayes is believed to be with 25-year-old Kennedy Mariah Boggs in a silver 2014 Honda Civic. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, officials said.
